Over the past 10 years we've evaluated and experienced many IT Service Management platforms, and we've always been frustrated with the user experience. Regardless of how many ITIL processes and workflows they had built into them, they were always let down by their poor usability and over-complicated functionality that meant you needed to attend an hour long training session to simply raise an incident!
During this time we've also witnessed the way Social Media has radically changed how we communicate and interact with the people around us, encouraging us to share real-time information with wide networks rather than out-dated information with a select few. We thought this would be a great way to improve the usability and communication within an IT Service Management platform, and IT SmartDesk was born!
